What Is a Stand-Up Pouch?

Also known as a doypack, the stand-up pouch is a flexible bag that stands on its own base once the gusset at the bottom opens out. This keeps the product upright at the front of the shelf: shoppers spot it from a distance, carry it easily and, if it has a zipper, can keep opening and reclosing it as they use it.

It uses less material than rigid packaging such as jars and cans, and takes up very little space when empty, which also brings advantages in storage and shipping. It can be adapted to a wide range of products, notably nuts, coffee, spices, snacks and powders.
